Overview

The keel of this four-deck yacht was laid by the famous Heesen Dutch shipyard under ABS Class rules in 2010 and delivered in 2011. The exterior of this 44-meter (144') aluminum vessel with its sleek hull lines and multi-sized windows is elegant and recognizable as another masterwork from Heesen.

On the initiative of the present owner, all interiors were refitted to look more luxurious, yet comfortable. The keynote of this new design is the combination of white and autumn colors, as well as contrasting different textures and materials. CASTLEFINN has not been chartered under the owner so there is very little wear and tear - the yacht is in superb condition.

The yacht was designed to accommodate 10 guests in 5 spacious cabins, each with an ensuite bath. Four guest cabins (two of them - VIP) are situated on the lower deck. There is an additional optional stateroom in the sky lounge with a hidden queen-size drop-down murphy bed which makes it possible to have 12 guests aboard.  The full beam owner area is on the main deck and includes a master cabin, master study, an ensuite bathroom with his and hers partitions and a wardrobe closet big enough for extended cruising.

Just aft of the owner's stateroom is the main salon and dining room integrated with an aft lounge, a magnificent semicircular seating area with a panoramic view that has access to the aft deck, for a complete sequential view of all the features and accommodations of CASTLEFINN.

On the 4th and highest deck, the sundeck features an entertainment bar animated by a $100,000 sound system. The Jacuzzi and lounging area are aft on the sundeck. A dumb waiter - useful to replenish food and drinks without disturbing the guests - travels between the galley deck and the bridge deck.

On the lowest deck is a garage for storing the 21' tender and water toys which can easily be modified as a beach club for an owner who would rather tow a tender. Additionally, in the garage area there is an engineer's cabin with an ensuite bath, formerly a sauna and shower. 

The 44M Heesen is extremely spacious (just below 500 GT) and is a leader among other yachts in this class. Powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines, this semi-displacement superyacht has a cruising speed of 20 knots with a top speed of exceeding Heesen's rated maximum speed of 23 knots which is an excellent speed for a 144-foot yacht.  At an economical speed of 12 knots with zero speed stabilizers CASTLEFINN has the range of a full displacement yacht (3500 nm) - i.e., CASTLEFINN has the best of both worlds; speed and range.

In 2022-2024 over 4 million dollars was spent to modernize and improve the electronics, mechanical equipment, and the interior décor. For example, the gyro was replaced,  K4 TV remotes, Exterior Sunscreens, Remote fusion Stereo Systems, Main engine upgrades, and much, much more (See:  Section "2021-2022 Refit") The current owner went through the entire yacht and fixed or renewed all systems aboard to have years of trouble-free boating. The yacht finished her ABS 5 year recertifcation in May 2024 which is now good for 5 more years with yearly ABS inspections.

WINDSCREEN WIPERS

SEARCH LIGHT

Two (2) Sanshin electric operated 24 VDC search light will be installed. Type ARC/RCL 600 - 24 VDC. Control panel for each in the Bridge. Internal elevation mechanism provides pitch control of spotlight beam while protecting elevation mechanism from weather.

Xenon lamp and parabolic reflector provide hyper-intense 6.000.000 candela spotlight beam. Housing rotates a full 360° allowing all-around illumination capability.

Auto return brings light back to a pre-set position. Focus adjustment gives spot or flood capability. Material: aluminum; color: white; operation: remote joystick control; beam angle: variable, can be narrowed and broadened; elevation angle: 18° up, 30° down; elevation speed 7½° per second; turning speed: 11° per second low, 27° per second high; lamp 150 watt Xenon.

A boat crane make Hydromar on the wheelhouse deck in front of the wheelhouse. This crane is used for handling the rescue boat. Maximum reach: approx. 13' Maximum load : 1100 lbs. Rotation angle: 180º Hauling speed: 16.4'/minute Lifting height: maximum 30'
