Walkthrough & Broker Comments

SOLACE is a true pocket explorer that is outfitted for global cruising with an extensive list of safety gear onboard, a substantial tender carried on deck, fishing & dive gear, toys, etc

The Nordhavn 86 is an extremely capable yacht considering her size with an impressive range of 3,500nm at 10 knots. Her machine spaces are well organized and easily accessible by crew and her foredeck carries an impressive tender with room for a second.

She sleeps 8 guests in 4 cabins including a private owner's deck located just aft of the bridge deck complete with private exterior deck & ensuite. Forward on the main deck is a VIP that is large enough to almost be called a second master cabin. Stepping down from the VIP are the 2 guest cabins along with access to a laundry facility & machine spaces.

The crew area is accessible from an exterior door located on the main deck port side. This space consists of a spacious mess area, 2 cabins (queen berth + bunk room)that sleeps up to 4 crew. You also have access to the engine room as well as the lazzarette area so easy access for the crew to assure the vessel is running properly.

Focusing on the exterior deck spaces we will start on the aft deck where you have a fantastic layout with a large centerline table that comfortably seats 8 or more guests, a wet bar located to starboard and additional storage and day head to port. You also have docking station which comes in super helpful when maneuvering in tight spaces. Direct access to port & starboard through aft deck doors to the double wide swim platform complete with staples/safety rails. Port side walk around continues to midships where you enter in the foyer near the galley and the starboard side walk around continues all the way to the upper Portuguese bridge and eventually leads to the bow.

On the bridge deck you have wing stations located to both port & starboard, and a center line walkway that leads to the bow. On the bow you have a centerline davit giving you the ability to launch or retrieve tenders and toys to port or starboard. The forepeak is accessible from a hatch located just aft of the ground tackle. Fantastic space all around great for tender operations and storing larger toys/water sports equipment. The aft section of the bridge deck is a smaller private owners deck which has walk arounds that continue forward to the Portuguese bridge. Great layout that gives the owner & crew full walk arounds on every deck.

The sundeck is also another favorite space (which can be fully enclosed by removable Stratta glass panels) and I feel very well laid out with a forward sitting area, dinning area nicely positioned under the hard top, jacuzzi positioned aft and raised to optimize your view yet still give you privacy.

Teak decks cover all exterior deck spaces minus the bow area which is non-skid which allows for easy maintenance.

Stepping into the main salon you have a wide open area that features a built in U-shaped settee to starboard and 2 floating chairs to port complimented by a pop-up tv. Forward of that is the interior dining area (centerline square table seats 8). Immediately to starboard is the large built in bar area that tucks in right under the stairs that lead to the upper deck. Just forward to port is the galley which overlooks the entire main deck great for family style entertaining. There is a drop down privacy blind for when the owner/guests want more formal service & privacy.

The carpeting is fresh and all the fabrics & linens are bright with pops of blue accents throughout. Very neutral yet elegant in all the touches throughout the vessel. Her high gloss teak wood is also timeless and works perfectly with the decor.

Prior to coming to market the owner spent a substantial amount of money hiring designer Luiz de Basto along with naval architects Murray & Associates while engaging well respected shipyard Pendennis to complete studies to extended both the hull & superstructure which enlarged both the upper owners cabin & bridge deck aft, sundeck. A full report was also made on a complete propulsion change to diesel electric hybrid from her current standard diesel arrangement. Drawings and reports will be made available to the new owner for their records. Costs exceeded $100,000.

SOLACE represents the only Nordhavn 86 on the market today and she shows in top condition. She is located in the FTZ (Free Trade Zone) at Lauderdale Marine Center and can be viewed on short notice.
